A Sydney Photographer’s Year in Review: 2024
As a Sydney photographer, it feels like just yesterday we were welcoming 2024. The year has passed in the blink of an eye, and with it, the photography industry has experienced significant shifts, especially in the world of commercial photography. As a leading Australian photographer, I’m grateful to have been part of such an exciting and ever-changing landscape, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 holds for my career and the industry as a whole.
2024: A Year of Growth and Creativity As An Australian Photographer
This year has been one of growth and exploration. As an experienced Sydney photographer specialising in still life subjects, I had the pleasure of collaborating with a variety of amazing clients—both local and global. The year saw me shoot everything from food photography to drink photography and even intricate still life photography. I worked on everything from product photography for beverage brands to creative campaigns for new food launches. These diverse opportunities allowed me to push my creativity and hone my skills across different genres.
One of the most notable changes this year was the rapid evolution of the media we shoot for With the growing influence of social media and the rise of AI tools, the world of commercial photography is now more competitive than ever. As a food photographer and drink photographer, I’ve embraced these challenges, adapting my style and approach to meet the ever-changing demands of brands and businesses.
Client Projects and Highlights in 2024
Throughout the year, I had the privilege of working on several exciting projects. For food photography, I collaborated regularly with Arnott’s, capturing work for product launches, Social media, digital, packaging, and adverting purposes. These were high-profile shoots, requiring both creativity and precision to bring the brand’s vision to life. I also worked on an update for a pet food brand Ivory Coat, which involved creating visually engaging imagery of dissected meat and bones—a unique challenge that truly pushed my creative and technical boundaries.
In drink photography, I had the chance to collaborate on some exciting beverage campaigns, capturing everything from dynamic cocktail shots to refreshing soft drink compositions. I also continued my exploration of still life photography, creating conceptual pieces inspired by Australian natural elements like seashells and botanicals.
