Great to see the delicious Sara Lee Incredibly ice cream and cheesecake packaging range hit stores. As a food photographer Ice Cream can be one of the hardest products to shoot especially in Sydney when summer comes early!
I worked with the passionate creative director Lisa Hastings and the Vibe Creative team with styling by Nicole Szabason to create these images. For the ice cream there were mobile freezer rooms, dry ice and air-conditioning involved to keep everything from melting. On average each ice cream set included 20 plus hero balls to cover a full wrap around the tub, these were all hand scooped and shot in one take, amazing really and the food styling to achieve this was spot on.
For the cheesecakes we wanted to create a specialty look and feel to offer the premium position so from a lighting point of view we used diopters to focus and concentrate the light isolating the hero slice. The hero slice was placed on a black stone to work seamlessly on the black packs which really stand out on shelf.
Many a cheesecake and ice-cream tub were eaten in the making… but who could resist 🙂
